Description:
Fiberglass centrifugal Blowers provide a convenient package design Blower with high quality corrosion resistant housing and wheel, constructed of fiberglass reinforced plastic. FRP Blowers are resistant to attack from most chemicals and are ideally suited for application handling corrosive gasses typical in the chemical, pulp and paper, waste water treatment, fertilizer, pharmaceutical, and metal treatment industries.

Standard resins with antimony troxide to give Class I fire retardancy and less than 25 flame spread. Both housing and wheel made from Hetron FR992 for added strength, Class I fire retardancy and less than 25 flame spread. Ultraviolet inhibitor added for exterior exposure. Graphite impregnation for electrical grounding. Veil surface coatings for all parts of the air stream..

CONSTRUCTION

FRP Centrifugal Blowers have the housing and wheel constructed from fiberglass reinforced plastic utilizing premium resins for maximum strength and corrosion resistance. The drive and motor base are constructed from heavy gage steel finished with a catalytic epoxy coating for corrosion protection. A Teflon shaft seal around the shaft opening is provided to limit exchange of gasses through the shaft hole (not gas tight). The Blower exterior is finished with medium grey catalytic epoxy coating. The Mode! 166 Blowers are furnished with an outlet flange and a slip fit inlet collar.

FRP Blowers are available in ARR 1, ARR 9 and ARR 10 configurations. Maximum motor frame sizes that can be accommodated on ARR 9 & 10 Blowers are listed in the dimensional table for each Blower size.

MATERIAL                                                                      Hetron 99P or equivalent resin is used for the housing and Hetron FR992 or equivalent resin is used for the wheel, both of which provide superior corrosion resistance and strength with a Class II fire retardancy and less than 75 flame spread. All air stream surfaces are coated with a thick coating of resin after layup to provide maximum corrosion protection and minimize wicking. Several optional materials and characteristics are available:

SHAFT AND BEARING                                                FRP Blowers are supplied with 304 stainless steel shafts and cast-iron pillow block ball or roller bearings as standard. Shafts of 316 stainless steel are available as an option. The portion of the shaft in the air stream is encapsulated in FRP laminate for protection from corrosive gasses. Special bearing requirements can be provided when specified.

WHEELS                                                                           FRP Blowers utilize a non-overloading backward inclined centrifugal impeller for high efficiency and quiet operation. Imbedded steel hub plate and taper lock bushing are used for attachment to the drive shaft. The bushing and hub plate are encapsulated in FRP laminate for protection from corrosive gasses.

Fiberglass Backward Inclined Centrifugal Blower Specification

Model 166 Belt Drive
